CCSVI

Since the time that CCSVI (Chronic Cerebrospinal Venous Insufficiency) was first introduced, Synergy Health has been focused on safely diagnosing and providing a comprehensive symptom and relieving treatment program for patients who’s quality of life has been compromised due to this condition.

CCSVI (Chronic Cerebrospinal Venous Insufficiency) is a medical condition where people have obstructed blood flow in the veins that drain the central nervous system. We have found that the symptoms that patients experience are directly associated with the function of the vagus nerve, which travels alongside the jugular vein.

CCSVI was first described in 2008 by Italian vascular surgeon, Dr. Paolo Zamboni. Dr. Zamboni found vein blockages to be associated with Multiple Sclerosis. The theory being that reflux in the draining veins leads to the symptoms, perhaps even being the underlying cause of multiple sclerosis. Our experience, and that of others, has indicated that CCSVI is also a condition that is common to some patients with other neurological degenerative diseases as well–including Lyme disease, ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease), Parkinson’s disease, and others.
