Studies Investigate Relationship Between New Treatment and Reduction in Dysautonomia Symptoms in MS Patients

Synergy Health has published a new study, the first in a series, investigating the relationship between treatment for CCSVI (and its successor treatment, TVAM therapy) and the improvement of the symptoms of dysautonomia among M.S. Patients and other groups suffering from autonomic dysfunction. Read our latest study here:

While CCSVI treatment was first theorized to achieve its benefits through improved cerebral blood flow dynamics, recent studies shed doubt on this theory. However, the clinical benefits observed in patients undergoing the treatment are both real and enduring. So what is going on here?

Based on both our research and clinical observations, we have come to understand that the venous angioplasty treatment improves the symptoms of autonomic dysfunction in MS patients (and in other patient groups suffering from dysautonomia as well). These symptoms are often those that are most troubling to patients and include cognitive impairment (brain fog), extreme fatigue, headaches, sleep disturbances, cold or heat intolerance, and bladder or bowel dysfunction. The treatment also works to address blood pressure abnormalities experienced by MS patients, as is discussed in our study.

Our research has led us to conclude that while the treatment is effective, it works for entirely different reasons than originally believed. Rather than being a function of eliminating venous insufficiency, the CCSVI/TVAM treatment appears to work by acting directly on the autonomic nervous system, thus resulting in a broad range of improved autonomic symptoms in a high percentage of patients.
